身患绝症的故事已被韩剧、日剧屡试不爽，但《别爱我》走出了韩剧惯用的凄凄惨惨切切的伎俩，而是通过少女**对生命的热爱、对爱情的执着，她用天真烂漫的情感、偷偷奉献的窃喜，努力生活的态度感动着身边的人。所以虽然能整部剧是围绕着一个弥留之际少女展开，但故事更多带给观众的是温情与感动。剧中绝症女主角的桥段与《第一次亲密接触》极为类似，不少细节的处理都相当雷同，如女主角名字里都有**，还都得了绝症。而且不等待死亡，都是用努力生活的态度感动着身边的人，吸引男主角。
